The U.S. Supreme Court declined to review Texas veterinarian Ron Hines’ challenge to a Texas law making it illegal for him to give advice online or via telephone without a prior physical examination of an animal.

Jeff Rowes, a senior attorney for the nonprofit Arlington, Virginia-based free speech advocacy organization Institute for Justice, who represents Hines, said their free-speech fight has not stopped. In the face of the high court’s decision issued Nov. 30, Rowes said during the Texas lawmakers’ next session: “We will pursue legislative reforms.”
