Jason Steed, an associate in the Dallas office of Bell Nunnally, who tweets @5thCircAppeals, had an offer to deliver recently: “Texas folks: if you know any Syrian refugee facing adverse action from the State of Texas, let me know. I’ll help any way I can. Pro bono,” the appellate lawyer tweeted that morning.

In a follow-up email, Steed said his tweet has not yet prompted requests for assistance but it has generated “lots of expressions of support and gratitude for my offer.”
