Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe opened an office in Houston on Jan. 19, with plans for about 20 partners from a number of firms in Houston to initially staff the California-based firm’s first Texas outpost.

Mitchell Zuklie, the firm’s chairman and chief executive officer, said the new partners, who will be identified as they join the firm beginning this week, practice in areas including renewable energy and power, oil and gas, litigation and intellectual property, public finance and Latin America.
