After winning the Iowa caucuses, U.S. senator and Republican hopeful Ted Cruz emphasized during a victory speech his grassroots financing. Cruz described the masses of “courageous conservatives” who funded his campaign. He had received 800,000 contributions, each on average $67, Cruz told a celebrating crowd in Iowa.
Among those contributing to Cruz are a significant number of lawyers.
