Mexico recently enacted historic reforms that opened the country’s state-dominated energy sector. Consequently, Mexican consumers are now trying to reduce fuel costs by obtaining as much cheap Texas natural gas and refined fuel products as they can get.

Currently, San Antonio-based Howard Energy Partners is seeking to capitalize on the new open business climate with Mexico. The company is now working on two cross-border pipeline projects, the Nueva Era Pipeline and the recently announced Dos Aguilas Pipeline, according to T.J. Campbell, Howard Energy’s assistant general counsel.
