The oil and gas industry has long criticized governmental mandates promoting the use of ethanol and other biofuels. In a new development on this front, Valero Energy, the San Antonio-based energy company, recently sued the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency in a legal challenge to the federal agency’s efforts to expand the use of ethanol and other biofuels to power the nation’s transportation system.
Valero, through its subsidiaries, is an international manufacturer and marketer of transportation fuels, petrochemical products and power.
