Five law firms that represent a class of corporate plaintiffs pursuing antitrust litigation against News Corp. may receive attorney fees equal to as much as 30 percent of a proposed $244 million settlement—or $73 million.
But a federal judge must first approve the proposed settlement, which was announced this month on the first day of a scheduled trial. Then the judge must also approve the attorney fees. The firms have not yet specified how much they will seek in attorney fees.
