Targa Resources, a midstream energy company located in Houston, recently filed a case against Epcon Industrial, a company that manufactures a system that treats industrial exhaust air and cuts air contaminants. In the lawsuit, Targa Resources states that it had entered a contract with Epcon to build the two systems called regenerative thermal oxidizers (RTO) for a facility at Mont Belvieu, Texas, and that Epscon’s defective construction of the RTO systems caused them to fail and led to the facility being fined by the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality. Altogether, Targa Resources is seeking damages in the amount of $17,731,000 against Epcon.
Targa Resources, and its affiliates Targa Midstream Resources and Cedar Bayou Fractionators, filed their petition in Harris County state court against Epcon, a Texas limited partnership with its principal office located in The Woodlands.
