A Dallas judge tossed a civil lawsuit filed by a private taxpayer, which challenged the fees paid to the special prosecutors pursuing criminal charges against Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton.

Dallas County Court of Law No. 5 Judge Mark Greenberg granted the special prosecutors’ plea to jurisdiction, in which they argued that the court didn’t have authority to rule on the fees. Greenberg dismissed the case, Blackard v. Schaffer, filed by Jeffory Blackard against Collin County officials. The Dallas judge is presiding over Blackard, filed in Collin County, after judges in that county recused themselves.
