The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) recently issued a draft environmental impact statement for the $10 billion Golden Pass LNG Export Project proposed by Houston-based Golden Pass Products and Golden Pass Pipeline (collectively referred to as Golden Pass). Golden Pass Products’ shareholders, Exxon Mobil Corp. and Qatar Petroleum International, are leading companies in the LNG business.
The proposed project will include the construction, modification and operation of the liquefied natural gas facilities in Sabine Pass, Texas, where the existing Golden Pass export terminal is located. The new project will also add three liquefaction trains; a truck unloading facility; refrigerant and condensate storage; safety and control systems and associated infrastructure; a supply dock; and alternate marine delivery facilities at the terminal. In addition, other modifications include 2.6 miles of a new 24-inch-diameter pipeline loop, three new compressor stations, five new pipeline interconnections and modifications at existing pipeline interconnections, and other appurtenant facilities.
