In Waco, after two mediation sessions but before a trial, a family received a court-approved settlement of $27.5 million from Sanderson Farms, a poultry company.

The family brought claims against Sanderson Farms for injuries that its mother and baby allegedly suffered in a car crash with a vehicle owned by the company and driven by its employee. 
According to the family’s petition, on the day of the 2013 crash, the driver confided in his live-in girlfriend that “he kind of just dozed off” before the collision.
