Vinson & Elkins opened an office on May 16 in Taipei, Taiwan, where the firm will focus on complex commercial litigation and intellectual property work, renewable energy and corporate matters.
Partners David Tsai, a partner in San Francisco, and Christopher Kao, managing partner of the Palo Alto office, will oversee the office and spend part of their time in Taipei. Tsai said other V&E lawyers will also travel there regularly but he does not expect any to work full-time in Taipei right now.
