With the approaching auction of deepwater oil blocks to be hosted by the Mexican government in December, Texas Lawyer spoke to Luis Gomar, who is a partner with the firm of Thompson & Knight and is involved in the firm’s international energy practice group, on what to expect in connection with the auction. Gomar serves as the firm’s Mexico City office leader and also practices in the firm’s Dallas office. He has significant experience in cross-border energy transactions throughout Latin America and provides general legal advice to oil, gas and energy companies. His recent work has focused on advising clients with groundbreaking projects in connection with the ongoing tenders under Mexico’s new regulatory landscape.
