Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld will close its five-lawyer Austin office at the end of June, because of the pending departure of two intellectual property partners in that office.
“Akin Gump has maintained a small presence in Austin to accommodate two partners in our IP practice who have now announced they are leaving the firm. With their departure there is no longer a need for us to remain in Austin,” a firm spokesman wrote in a statement provided in response to questions about the Austin office.
