In the legal battle about immigration reforms pitting Texas and 25 other states against the federal government, none of the litigants are sparing each other, or the presiding judge, from the stiffest evaluations of their possible procedural missteps.
That has been particularly true since May 19 when presiding U.S. District Judge Andrew Hanen issued a punitive order against Department of Justice lawyers, deemed excessive by outside lawyers.
