Two large litigation boutiques in Texas have raised salaries for associates in the latest wave of pay hikes in response to Cravath, Swaine & Moore’s move to a $180,000 first-year base salary.

Susman Godfrey, which is based in Houston but has offices in Seattle, Los Angeles and New York, exceeded that level by announcing on June 10 it would pay its first-year partnership-track associates and new hires a base salary of $190,0000 starting July 1.
