U.S. District Judge Andrew Hanen blasted unvarnished sarcasm at U.S. Department of Justice lawyers who flew from Washington, D.C. to appear in his Brownsville, Texas, courtroom for a hearing last month in litigation pitting Texas and 25 other states against the Obama administration’s immigration policies.
“So what this boils down to is, you’re telling me, Judge, we’re the DOJ. We can lie, cheat and steal and it doesn’t matter? And you can’t do anything about it?” Hanen asked.
