Jury awards plaintiff claiming several injuries
A driver who claimed a wide range of injuries—from neck and back pain to anxiety and nervousness—was awarded $5,211. Larry Jenkins was rear-ended by Dzung Nguyen in heavy traffic, and he stipulated to liability. Jenkins claimed neck and upper back pain, lumbar disk bulges, constant lower back pain, pain radiating into his legs, bilateral shoulder and hip pain, headaches, blurred vision, depression, anxiety, nervousness and ringing in the ears. He sought about $24,000. The defense questioned whether the accident resulted in Jenkins’ injuries and treatment. The defense suggested a maximum award of about $3,200.
