On May 18, the U.S. Department of Labor published its final rule updating the overtime regulations, which will automatically extend overtime pay regulation to millions of workers within the first year of implementation.

Texas Lawyer recently spoke to Dentons partner Laura Gibson, who heads the Houston office’s labor and employment group, on what to expect related to the impact of the new federal overtime rules. Gibson is also the current president of the Houston Bar Association. The following discussion has been edited for length and style.
