Federal energy regulators this week fined BP America Inc. more than $20 million for allegedly manipulating the natural gas market in Texas in the aftermath of Hurricane Ike in 2008.

BP, according to the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission, executed a scheme to profit from the market conditions after the hurricane struck the Texas coast. Regulators said BP manipulated the price of natural gas in the Houston region.
