Massachusetts Attorney General Maura Healey last week urged a federal trial judge in Texas to dismiss Exxon Mobil Corp.’s challenge to the state’s investigation into allegations the oil company misled consumers and investors about climate change.

Healey’s office filed papers in Fort Worth federal district court in opposition to Exxon’s motion for preliminary injunction. Her office argues that Exxon, which sued in June to bar enforcement of a civil investigative demand, is seeking to “avoid and delay” compliance with the state attorney general’s demand for information. Exxon has filed a similar action in Massachusetts state court.
