A Dallas legal recruiting company is seeking up to $1 million from a lawyer the company alleges used another recruiter to make a move to Holland & Knight’s Houston office despite promising to use the plaintiff’s services.

Cassidy Recruiting alleges in a petition it filed on Aug. 12 that it was “shocked” to learn months after it approached lawyer Dean Schaner that he had joined Holland & Knight in March as a partner and another recruiter received the placement fee.
