Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld advised the conflicts committee of the board of directors of the general partner in Valero Energy Partners in its pending acquisition of the Meraux and Three Rivers Terminal Services Business from a subsidiary of Valero Energy Corp. for about $325 million. Baker Botts represents San Antonio-based Valero Energy Corp.
On Aug. 22, Valero Energy Partners, a master limited partnership in San Antonio, announced the transaction, which is expected to close on Sept. 1. The board of directors of the general partner approved the acquisition based on the approval and recommendation of the conflicts committee.
