U.S. District Judge Andrew Hanen in Brownsville, Texas, has once again postponed any sanctions of U.S. Department of Justice lawyers.

In the dispute over the implementation of the Obama administration’s executive actions on immigration policy, which is before Hanen, Texas and the 25 other plaintiff states challenging the action agreed with DOJ lawyers at an Aug. 31 hearing that “it would be appropriate” for the federal judge to continue a stay of his proposed sanctions until the U.S. Supreme Court rules if it will hear the lawsuit, according to a the electronic PACER docket entry.
