In a products liability litigation, an East Texas federal judge denied a motion for sanctions for alleged spoliation sought by Chrysler Group against the widow of a man who died while driving a Jeep Wrangler.
In its motion seeking the spoliation sanction, filed on July 8, Chrysler argued that the plaintiff, Ramona Smith, whom Rebecca Brightwell of Lufkin, Texas, currently represents, along with Smith’s previous counsel, failed to take affirmative steps to have her insurance company preserve the Jeep after the crash.
