Dallas lawyer R. Brent Cooper and his firm, Cooper & Scully, bungled their defense of an infringement suit tried in 2013 in federal court in Houston, former clients allege in a $1 million negligence suit.

The plaintiffs, Wayne Bopp of Houston and his company, Frontier Custom Builders, sued Cooper and his firm in state court last week, claiming negligence and seeking to hold Cooper & Scully vicariously liable for the conduct of Cooper and other firm lawyers who worked on the infringement case.
