Norton Rose Fulbright represents a Houston company founded by Paul Hobby that has agreed to buy the assets of the 43-year-old Texas Monthly magazine from Indianapolis-based Emmis Communications Corp. for $25 million.
Hobby is a grandson of former Texas Gov. William P. Hobby, who was also publisher of the defunct Houston Post. Hobby’s father is former Texas Lt. Gov. Bill Hobby, who was president of the Houston Post for 21 years until it was sold in 1983.
