A hair stylist who claimed she was fired due to her claustrophobia agreed to a $60,000 settlement. Nora Jacquez, who filed a claim with the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, was fired after working less than four months from a salon chain owned by Regis Corp. in Midland. Due to her claustrophobia, Jacquez couldn’t work at a salon station if it was in a confined space located between others. Although at first she was assigned to a more open station at the salon, the company later moved her to work between other stylists. She had an anxiety attack that put her in an emergency room. While on medical leave for two months, she was fired.
