The State Bar of Texas board of directors that will decide Jan. 20 whether to approve two nominees for the position of president-elect includes the husband and law partner of one of the nominees.

Lance Sharp, partner in The Sharp Firm in Austin, said he has been on the bar board since the summer of 2014. In late 2016, the State Bar’s Nominations and Elections Subcommittee recommended Sharp’s wife, Laura Bellegie Sharp, and Chad Baruch, shareholder in Johnston Tobey Baruch in Dallas, as nominees for president-elect in 2017-2018.
