Texas Supreme Court Chief Justice Nathan Hecht advocated for better security and pay for the hundreds of judges that serve the Lone Star State, and he introduced Austin jurist Julie Kocurek as the main reason why during his annual address to lawmakers.

Speaking in the Texas House of Representatives Chamber during his State of the Judiciary address, Hecht pressed legislators to provide more money to protect judges from people who want to do them harm and change laws to protect a judge’s personal information.
