Acting on something she thought about “nearly every day for the last three years,” Fort Worth lawyer Kelly Decker left Decker Jones, a firm that bears her grandfather’s name, to form a firm with her husband, Olyn Poole.
Decker, who does civil litigation and family law, said she had a hankering to be her own boss and “do it my way.” So she decided to practice with her husband, and together they established Decker Poole Law Firm on Wednesday. She said owning a small firm gives her flexibility with her personal life, and also provides the opportunity to take riskier cases, such as plaintiffs litigation.
