TL: What do you view as your most important function as general counsel at your company?
HomeVestors of America:My most important function as general counsel is handling the challenge of making sure our small legal department keeps pace with the company’s remarkable growth and speed at which we must handle issues presented by our in-house clients and franchise-customers. Since 1996, HomeVestors’ franchise community has grown from the first franchise to 838 franchises in 45 states and Washington D.C. It is the only franchise in the residential real estate buying industry. The legal department has been instrumental in shepherding the company in a variety of areas and our nimble legal department is at the forefront of all of the challenges that come with a growing company in an industry with a wide array of legal issues.
