A Westchester judge has sanctioned a Long Island attorney after finding his behavior during litigation had “substantially tarnished” the justice system.

Supreme Court Justice Alan Scheinkman (See Profile) sanctioned Jeffrey Levitt of Massapequa $5,000 in a sharply worded decision that said the attorney had “acted in a consistently unprofessional manner that has substantially delayed the course of this litigation, and that he appears to believe himself to be above the law and beyond reproach.”
