A breach of contract dispute stemming from U.S. efforts to restore Iraq’s oil infrastructure resulted in a $4.8 million judgment for two companies that allege they procured equipment for a construction project in Iraq but didn’t get paid.

But 165th District Judge Elizabeth Ray’s May 23 final judgment in LEM & Associates v. Graybar Electric Co. Inc. also provides some relief to Graybar, the company that bought the equipment, a twin-pack turbine generator. Ray heard evidence in the case during a five-day bench trial in February and heard final arguments on March 1.
