Electronic Data Systems Corp., which was recently hit with a $54.6 million verdict from a Tarrant County, Texas jury in a breach-of-contract and fraud dispute with the developers of a computerized transcription system, faces new legal woes in the form of complaints by two vendors who allege they were defrauded.
The complaints by Akai Musical Instrument Corp. (AMIC) and Pioneer New Media Technologies Inc. allege they provided equipment and services to EDS for what they were told was a top secret NATO project. The companies allege they recently discovered there was no legitimate business relationship between EDS and a so-called NATO Special Operations Procurement for NATO’s Rapid Reaction Command.
