Federal and state civil trials for the gay lawyer who has claimed two law firms scuttled his lateral move have been pushed back.

The Philadelphia Court of Common Pleas trial for plaintiff Jeffrey Downs, who is suing Anapol Schwartz and Raynes McCarty, had been set to begin earlier last week. But according to recently filed documents, Downs' counsel is unable to proceed with the case due to an emergency medical condition.

That case is scheduled for a status conference to be held March 9, according to attorneys in the case.
