Two defendants in the multidistrict litigation alleging price-fixing on the part of major manufacturers of drywall have agreed to settle for $55 million.

U.S. District Senior Judge Michael M. Baylson of the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, who has handled the case since it was consolidated two years ago, granted preliminary approval to the deal this week.

Several defendants are still left in the case, which will proceed without TIN Inc. or United States Gypsum Co.'s parent company, USG Corp.
