A former Drinker Biddle & Reath staff attorney agreed to a two-year suspension from the practice of law after admitting he overbilled for his time doing document review at the firm, according to an order from the Pennsylvania Supreme Court.
The court approved the state disciplinary board's recommendation of a two-year suspension of Benjamin Hart Perkel, retroactive to June 12, 2014, which was when he was placed on temporary suspension.
Perkel worked as a staff attorney at Drinker Biddle from November 2011 to November 2012, during which time he was assigned document review for a piece of litigation on behalf of firm client Maxus Energy Corp. known as the Passaic River litigation.
