It took less than two years for Nelson Brown & Co., formerly Nelson Levine de Luca & Hamilton, to transform from an expanding, profitable insurance boutique to the nearly shuttered business that sources say is winding down.
The Blue Bell-based firm's last remaining name partner, Michael R. Nelson, left last week. Sutherland Asbill & Brennan announced June 1 that it hired Nelson and four other former Nelson Brown attorneys.
All the pages on Nelson Brown's website have been replaced with a blank backdrop that directs all inquiries to the firm's administrative officer, Molly Jobe. Jobe and Nelson did not return calls seeking comment.
