When Community Legal Services Executive Director Catherine C. Carr accepted the Philadelphia Bar Association's Sandra Day O'Connor Award, she did so in front of her former boss and the first woman to receive the award more than 20 years ago.
Carr was presented the award during the bar association's quarterly meeting Tuesday with her former boss, U.S. District Judge Norma L. Shapiro of the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, in attendance.
Carr, who will be stepping down as executive director of CLS at the end of the month, clerked for Shapiro in 1979 and 1980.

The suit, accusing the defendant of selling knock-off Graco products, was filed Dec. 18 in New Jersey District Court by Rivkin Radler on behalf of Graco Inc. and Graco Minnesota.
