A collection action has begun against Philadelphia Eagles head coach Chip Kelly after he was hit with a nearly $80,000 judgment over a lease dispute for a penthouse in what court papers describe as the “most expensive rental in Philly.”

Earlier this month, a Philadelphia judge ordered the Eagles coach to pay $79,374 to landlord Tempa Berish for court costs and five months' rent for a luxury apartment in the Old City neighborhood of Philadelphia.

An attorney for Berish initiated garnishment proceedings against Kelly with the Philadelphia County Sheriff's Department on June 16. The filing directed the sheriff's department to levy enough of Kelly's assets from six possible banks to satisfy the judgment plus $280 in additional costs.
