Kraft Heinz Co. Names GC of Combined Entity
The current general counsel of Kraft Foods will be leaving the company after its planned merger with H.J. Heinz Co., and her deputy GC will take over the legal functions of the combined entity, the companies said this week.

Three months after the two food giants unveiled their plans to merge, they announced a new senior leadership team, with the bulk of management coming from Heinz. But the new general counsel, Jim Savina, was deputy general counsel and chief compliance officer at Kraft.
According to Monday evening's statement, current Kraft general counsel Kim Rucker, along with a number of other members of Kraft senior management, will be leaving the company within 30 days or after the merger is completed. Rucker joined Kraft from her role as general counsel at Avon Products in 2012. While in private practice, Rucker worked at Sidley Austin. Savina followed Rucker over from Avon in early 2013 to become the associate general counsel at Kraft.
According to the combined company's announcement, through his promotion to senior vice president, general counsel and corporate secretary, Savina will be responsible for the company's corporate governance and securities, transactions, regulatory needs, intellectual property, litigation and labor and employment.
