A former judge who recently pleaded guilty to charges related to stealing cocaine out of evidence has been temporarily suspended by the state Disciplinary Board.
The Disciplinary Board announced that former Washington County Court of Common Pleas Judge Paul Pozonsky has been placed on temporary suspension after he was convicted of theft by unlawful taking, obstructing the administration of law and misapplication of entrusted property and property of government institution. The suspension is set to take effect Sept. 18.
According to Disciplinary Board Secretary Elaine Bixler, the suspension will last until the Office of Disciplinary Counsel files formal charges against Pozonsky and a hearing can be held on those charges. After that, the disciplinary case will be considered by the state Supreme Court, which will make the ultimate decision in the case, Bixler said.
