• On Sept. 16, the Education Law Center is scheduled to host its 40th anniversary celebration at 5:30 p.m. at the Crystal Tea Room, Wanamaker Building, Philadelphia. At this event, ELC will honor Fred Magaziner of Dechert; Catherine C. Carr, former executive director of Community Legal Services; the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia; and Hear Me, a project of Carnegie Mellon University focused on amplifying student voices. • On Sept. 19, Pro Bono Citizenship Day is set to be held at three sites located in Philadelphia, Chester and Delaware counties where volunteer attorneys and legal workers will assist clients in preparing naturalization applications. This is part of the Step Up to Citizenship Campaign, a collaboration of the Philadelphia Mayor's Office of Immigrant and Multicultural Affairs, the Philadelphia chapter of the American Immigration Lawyers Association, HIAS Pennsylvania, the Pennsylvania Immigration and Citizenship Coalition, and other nonprofit organizations. Free training programs will be offered to volunteer attorneys from 6 to 8 p.m. Sept. 10 at the Community College of Philadelphia, CBI Building, 18th and Callowhill streets, and from 2 to 3:30 p.m. Sept. 15, via a webinar, at Duane Morris, 30 S. 17th St., Philadelphia. Free CLE credits will be available in exchange for volunteering on Pro Bono Citizenship Day. Register online for a training session at www.stepuptocitizenship.org. Volunteers can sign up for a two-hour shift to volunteer on Pro Bono Citizenship Day at www.stepuptocitizenship.org.
