When the state Judicial Conduct Board conducted an investigation last year into allegations of inappropriate emails involving Justice J. Michael Eakin, it did so with incomplete information, the JCB said Oct. 9.

JCB chief counsel Robert A. Graci released a statement Oct. 9 that said the 2014 investigation was based on information then available to the board. That investigation resulted in a dismissal of the complaint against Eakin. The JCB acknowledged that it recently received materials from Attorney General Kathleen Kane regarding emails involving Eakin, and said it has begun a new investigation.
