After hiring a new defense lawyer to fight his corruption charges, embattled Philadelphia District Attorney Seth Williams’ previous counsel has been let out of the case.

In an order issued Monday morning, U.S. District Judge Paul S. Diamond granted Michael J. Diamondstein’s motion to withdraw from the case. Diamondstein asked the court for permission to leave because of concerns regarding Williams’ ability to pay him.
