The judge assigned the task of determining whether to toss the civil suit seeking to remove embattled Philadelphia District Attorney R. Seth Williams from office once acted as his campaign lawyer.

Philadelphia Court of Common Pleas Judge Abbe Fletman has been assigned to handle the preliminary objections that were recently filed in Sprague v. Williams.

According to The Legal's archives, Fletman represented Williams in 2009 and helped him successfully fend off a challenge seeking to knock him off the ballot. At the time, Fletman, who was appointed to the bench in 2014 and subsequently elected to a full term in 2015, was an attorney at Flaster Greenberg.
