Duquesne University School of Law has named its first female dean, tapping interim dean Maureen Lally-Green to fill the role.

Lally-Green became interim dean in July 2016, when her predecessor, Ken Gormley, was named as the university president. She will officially become dean July 1.

During Lally-Green's year as interim dean, the school has launched an educational law clinic and partnered with the Pennsylvania Innocence Project to open a Pittsburgh office within the law school. The school also got a $100,000 grant to help potential public housing residents in Pittsburgh get their juvenile records expunged.
