Things just went from bad to worse for Philadelphia District Attorney Seth Williams. The embattled prosecutor has been indicted on additional charges, this time relating to his alleged misuse of campaign money and government vehicles for his own benefit.

Williams, 50, is set to go to trial at the end of the month on 23 charges related to his alleged acceptance of expensive gifts for official favors, and is now facing six more counts of fraud filed in a superseding indictment, the U.S. Attorney's Office for the District of New Jersey announced Tuesday afternoon.

Federal prosecutors claim that Williams used money from his PAC, Friends of Seth Williams, for his own personal use—pocketing around $4,000 for himself in 2010. Williams allegedly wrote a check to a political consultant, obtained checks from the consultant's account and deposited the $4,000 into his own bank account.
