The General Assembly passed a measure that could bring gambling to Pennsylvania's airports.

The 209-page bill would create an “airport gaming area” location within qualified airports approved for authorized interactive games through the use of “multiuse computing devices by eligible passengers as approved by the airport authority and the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board.”

HB 271 defines a “fantasy contest” as “an online fantasy or simulated game or contest with an entry fee and a prize or award administered by a licensed operator” that can “reflect the relative knowledge and skill of participants and are determined by accumulated statistical results of the performance of individuals, including athletes” but “no winning outcome is based on the score, point spread or performance of a single actual team or combination of teams or solely on a single performance of an individual athlete or player in a single actual event.”
